The FDA expanded the indications for Lamictal (lamotrigine) tablets to include add-on therapy for partial seizures in children aged 2 years and older. Lamotrigine is already indicated as adjunctive therapy for children aged 2 years and older for the generalized seizures of Lennox-Gastaut syndrome.

Generic Lamictal (lamotrigine, 5-mg and 25-mg tablets) is approved for adjunctive therapy for partial seizures in adults and pediatric patients aged 2 years and older. The drug is also indicated as adjunctive therapy for the generalized seizures of Lennox-Gastaut syndrome in adult and pediatric patients aged 2 years and older.
